It's been almost 2 years since I taught myself to knit. It hasn't been very long, has it?. As expected; I'm still on the beginner/intermediate side of things. Lately I wanted to learn how to knit in the round, so I started looking for patterns that even I could understand.
Naturally I was looking for the free variety, because
I'm cheap that way free patterns tend to be simple enough to follow. After hours of scouring the web I came across this beauty:

I felt a bit intimidated by how complex it looked, but I found it so pretty that I downloaded the
free pattern anyway to see exactly how difficult it would be. To my surprise I found that the only thing in the pattern I had not done before was knit with circular needles, the rest of the pattern was exceedingly simple for me to follow. The complicated-looking spirals are made repeating the same two (yes, you read right: TWO) rows!!!
So I gave the pattern a whirl and found myself enjoying every stitch! Two days of knitting later I was the proud owner of my very own beautiful hat:

Unfortunately I didn't have a large enough bead to put at the end of the i-cord so I had to improvise until I can get a nice enough bead for my beautiful new hat. I wish to thank Ms. Lea Kobayashi for making this beautiful yet easy pattern available to all who are interested.
Until next time. RIOT out!
